NODAWAY VALLEY CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT DCG MEET
(Grimes) Three Nodaway Valley runners earned medals last night at the Wolverines first meet of the season at Dallas Center Grimes. The top seven finishers for each grade were awarded medals. T.J. Bower was the second fastest freshman boy. In the girls race, Susan Herr finished fourth among the seniors with Bethni Johnson coming in as the sixth best junior girl. The girls team finished eighth with 189 points. The boys team placed eleventh.

ATLANTIC GIRLS FIRST, BOYS SIXTH AT GLENWOOD MEET
(Glenwood) The Atlantic Trojann's cross country squad got their season of to a great start by winning the Glenwood Cross country meet. The Atlantic girls were led by defending state champion Ali Krogman who won the race. Christy Stevens placed fifth and freshman Ali Krogman came in tenth.
Luke Karamitros led the boys team to a sixth place finish Tuesday night. Karamitros finished thierd individually behind both Mark Abrams and Johnny Fuller from Glenwood.

TYLER BLUM WRAPS UP MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SEASON
(San Angelo, Texas) Tyler Blum has finished his season with the San Angelo Colts, an independent minor league baseball team. Blum said he pitched well this summer and it was a great experience. Blum pitched as fast as 94 mph hour and the team invited him back to play next summer. As of right now Blum has no plans to play any winter league ball.

AUDUBON'S ZACH BOHLMANN IS KSOM'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
(Audubon) Congratulations to Zach Bohlmann, our first KSOM Athlete of the Week for the 2010-2011 school year. Bohlmann scored four touchdowns and had over three hundred all-purpose yards in Audubon's 41-16 win at Exira-EHK. The Wheeler's starting running back found his way to the end zone four times in the game. One touchdown run came from fifty yards out and another from fifty-two yards. He also caught a touchdown pass and returned a kickoff eighty yards for his final touchdown of the night.

BOB BOLTON COACHING ERA UNDERWAY AT GUTHRIE CENTER
(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie Center Tigers got their season underway Friday night against Panorama. Playing for the first time under head coach Bob Bolton, the Tigers lost 34-14. Coach Bolton says the team and the coaching staff need to do a better job of getting the ball to their playmakers. Guthrie Center takes on Audubon this Friday night for their Week Two game.

GRIDIRON CLUB HOLDING ANNUAL COOKOUT AT CAM FRIDAY
(Anita) Before the CAM Cougars take the field against Stanton this Friday night, the Gridiron club will be holding their annual cookout. Burgers, brats, hot dogs, and side items will be served beginning at 5:00 p.m. They are hoping for a big crowd for the game and the cookout. Friday night will be Parents/Senior night for the CAM Cougars.
